Your Principal
Welcome to Lakemba Public school. My name is Laraine Rylance and I have been Principal of Lakemba Public School since July 2006.
I have a very simple vision for Lakemba Public School; to be happy, safe and successful.
As leader of our school I am committed to preparing our students to be effective life-long learners. This is best achieved through equipping our students with explicit instruction in literacy and numeracy and the use of technology as a tool in their learning process.
At Lakemba Public School we achieve this through quality integrated literacy and numeracy programs and ensuring our teachers are provided with professional learning opportunities to continually to improve their own learning. Lakemba Public School has PFP funding (Priorty Funding Program) which supports our school community through extra funding and extra staffing allocations. This supports ensures that our community has a fair say, a fair go, a fair share and fair content in curriculum delivery.
Our school community is very diverse and this makes for an exciting, caring environment that promotes peace and harmony. Parents at Lakemba Public school have made many sacrifices to ensure the best learning opportunities for their children. The talented ,caring teachers ensure that each child's learning needs are addressed.
Being a parent of two boys one at University of Sydney and one at Kingsgrove High I have a strong understanding of the issues and concerns that parents have in the 21st century. I also have a passion for public education both my boys have attended local public schools. I look forward to being apart of your child's educational journey.
